Begin a Budget is, well….just that. It’s the starting point for all things finance. If one portion of your life should be organized, it’s your money. You can let the laundry pile up and no one will really say anything. If you didn’t have time to shower this morning, we won’t tell anyone. But missing a mortgage payment, paying too much for insurance or not having an emergency savings account...now we got issues!

We started this site because we got tired of the significant other nagging about the budget. We started this site because we got tired of the not knowing. We started this site because we got tired of wondering where our money was really going. We started this site because we knew, deep down, there had to be a better way to handle money than sitting up at 1:00 AM with confusing software, comparing checkbook to statements and putting every extra penny into a low yield savings account. The word “yield” alone makes us feel weird. We thought big and created Begin a Budget for us….and you.

Budgets are boring. Budgets are annoying. We know your budget is really the last thing you want to think about at the end of a long day, so that’s why we’re making it as simple as possible.
